First Step towards the "One to many Model Village Initiative" Vision

So here it is: The identified village is "POJH" - why only Pojh? Well, so here is the answer.
All thru out while talking to Vikas, I wondered, there is a village where few things are already being driven so why not put all of the effort & get this village to the level where it is intended to get to make it a real "Model Village" - one of the far off villages that is not conencted with many facilities, there are certain iniatives already being driven, people are oriented towards change & there are many things that could still be done. Next step is to create a list of what has already been done, what is WIP & what is yet to be done?

I am sure, this can be called as a modest start to realize a long drawn dream?

Intent of bringing all Social groups together

Not sure but you all must be wondering somewhere why I am so keen to get all social groups together on this forum - well the intent is very Simple & Transparent ...

Can we all together adopt a village or may be 2. We take this village as a pilot project & this is what we do in that village:

- Vikas' "save village" org helps in creating the basic schooling in the village

- Bibhuti's organization spreads all its weight in promoting science & technology by ways & means of getting the necessary education to all kids of the village

- Satish jees OLPC org helps in providing laptops to all kids for better education

- Kaushalya' foundation helps in getting & spreading all of its root in getting the best farms vegetables from this village

- Irfan's organization takes the helpless & does something on bringing them up - even if there are any riskshaw pullers - they can be made to get in with the new SammaN culture

- ADG Abhyanand & Anand kumar open up a small centre in the school & help Bibhuti's org more in identifying the students who can make it to the big league & help in nurturing them

- UK foundation helps in getting medical camps arramged on a regular basis in this village

- US foundation helps in getting the Bio gas plan set up to enable them to make it

- Dr Bindeshwar helps in setting up a community Sulabh Sauchalaya in the village

- Take some help from Sudha (to set up a milk dairy co-operative)

To enable all of it, we take some grant from the government & also set up a NGO there to check & help seamlessly. Also help drive some of the employment thru the government schemes. Pl let know your thoughts & deliberate to take it forward from here. Once this is done, we may want to pilot another where we can take hep from the people from this village to spread across.  Opens the option for creating employment as well (which would be key). As regards my help, I can be part of this initiative & start driving this at the village level (once identified) co-ordinating with all of you at diferent levels.

Roap Map of Bihar

What shall be the road map of Bihar's development? Will it start with Education? If yes, where are we now & what do we want to be? Is it just about opening of BIG institutions like IIT, BIT or NIFT in our state or if it is a question of developing the rural child?

Shall it start with the land reforms? End of the day, it's agriculture that would pave the way for better income to all hence the bandwidth & money to provide education too by the poor parents to their children!!!

All along I was wondering I am the only one who thinks good of Bihar & rest all just talk - couple of months back I discovered & got a shock (pleasure) of my life when learnt I was the only one talking & rest all were doing something or the other - Like Bihar Brains, Bihar-Jharkhand Association of North America, Bihar Development foundation. Get up, Neeraj....

Lets Get Together

Went thru a lot of comments on Bihar mentioning about the sorry state of affairs in all respects - be it Politics, Bureaucracy, Policing, Education, Caste system, Land reforms & the list goes on.."why can't we work together", is the question that I keep asking myself - We started with one Super 30 - Today we have 4-5 mushroomed over - all trying to prove a point, at times, for a good cause, though; we have more than half a dozen societies catering to different needs - few in Science & technology space while few striving for social change & some providing to health needs - Can' we all get together & do something "BIG" - I am sure it is possible still keeping individual identities because all are doing something commendable at their own level - Today is the need to do something that doesn't remain limited to a society, place, region; We have to make the presence felt institutionally before the rigor dies down - would like to request all those from Bihar, be it from the field of Education, Diverse professions like Medical, IT, Engineering, Social groups etc to come together & start something very concrete with a Roap map for the next 5-10 years - I am sure we can do it & if we all are there, I am sure we can create what we are expecting our erstwhile politicians to do - "Lets together be the change agent for a better Bihar"
